Jody Hartstone is a Grand Prix dressage rider, coach, international lecturer, and leading advocate for Equitation Science. Based in New Zealand, she teaches and presents globally, with experience across the UK, Ireland, Canada, Europe, and Asia. As a rider, she has won multiple New Zealand Grand Prix titles and achieved Prix St Georges International Derby victories in New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa, giving her a strong practical foundation in high-level performance training.

One of the first coaches worldwide to graduate from the Equitation Science Associate Diploma, Jody is known for her clear, evidence-based approach to training and education. Through her platform, The Equine Catalyst, she delivers clinics, courses, and mentorship programmes that integrate learning theory, biomechanics, and ethical practice. Her work focuses on foundation training, retraining behavioural challenges, rider development, and applying science-led, horse-centred methods to performance horses.
